Day 06 of 3,653: Taking Advice from a Great.
Day 06 of 3,653 of my NonDē Film career (warts and all). I’m committing the next 10 years from 40 to 50– all in and sharing the process.
Read yesterday’s update [here].
From the kitchen table, waiting on a render.

Dear Reader,
Today was a slog.
But one filled with smaller victories that push the projects forward!
Today’s Film log:
Reflected on Jay Kelly and One Battle After Another. Both are excellent films that tackle different subjects, but with a shared undertone of commentary on the effects and affects of parenting.
Reflected on Thelma Schoonmaker saying, and I’m paraphrasing— continuity sucks. Edit for emotion. Edit for performance. Edit for anything but continuity. Worth the watch, below.
Re-edited my short following that idea. It’s better!
Discussed the new edit with my producer, executive producer, and DOP.
Today’s log
My autoimmune wrecked havoc on my joints. The pain sucks.
Did the drop off and pick ups for school and kids sports.
Thankful for my family.
I always find the comedown after editing much harder.
We can all do it.
Together, with faith.
